LoRaWAN Gateway on the things network

So we have a LoRaWAN gateway up and running in the Valley that is connected to the The Things network…

LoRa is a Low Power Wide Area Network that has the ability to communicate over long ranges. Were talking Kilometers here… and sensors that can run on batteries for years rather than hours, although I would consider that a challenge rather than a specification

Once the gateway is transferred to its new home at the MakeItZone, makers will be able to create devices and applications that will connect to the gateway and the things network without having to invest in a gateway of their own. Click the link below to go to the Adafruit video on transports to learn a bit more.

This post is just a short message to announce the gateway and get makers thinking of the exciting projects that can be developed.

More coming soon…
