CODE150: Code Minecraft Machines!
Six weekly, 1 hour sessions
Requires a JAVA version of Minecraft Account.
Using Lua, a common programming language in the games industry, we’ll create automated agents that will do the boring work in Minecraft: from mining, to farming, to building entire structures!
Participants will use ComputerCraft, a mod for the Java version of Minecraft, to code robots in Minecraft to do their bidding.
This programme is based on the book Coding With Minecraft: Build Taller, Farm Faster, Mine Deeper, and Automate the Boring Stuff by Al Swigart, which is available for free online (though please do consider buying the book and supporting the author!)
Because this is a self-paced course, there is no expectation of reaching a certain point in the book. Participants are welcome to come back for another session and continue from where they are.
